Community meal and fundraiser

On Saturday,  July 27, 2013, the Marlborough Community held a BREAD! KC event at Center Alternative School. The gathering included a locally-sourced community meal and an idea sharing process that ultimately resulted in one of the projects being funded by those who bought tickets for the dinner. The Catalyst Plan and Marlborough Community Coalition partnered with BREAD! KC to host this event.
The event was fun, informative, and well-attended, and we hope that this will provide a model for future fundraising/community building events across the five neighborhoods.

Please view the presentation below that the Catalyst team shared at the event.

During the meal we shared at this event, three community members presented their ideas for projects that could make a difference in Marlborough.  Those present voted for Curtis Calkins’ idea to be funded. Please see his presentation below.
